Dal-ACM Wiki Editing Guidelines

  • Do NOT sign or otherwise tag your contributions to the Wiki. Moin tracks the users that make changes to pages and the revision history is visible by clicking the info link on the page. Signing contributions is ugly and serves no purpose. Don't do it.
  • When adding comments, use a bullet and sign and date your contributions. This is the exception to the previous rule.
  • Please add comments describing your revisions before hitting Save Changes.
  • On a wiki, no one owns a page. Update and change as you see fit. Try to keep it professional.

  • Moin has a spell check function. Use it.
  • Minor edits do not require a comment, but it's nice.
  • If you find content that is clearly outdated, please try to bring it up to date. If you find content that is incorrect, please try to correct it; if you can't, mark it with the symbol NeedsResearch and a note about what's wrong. If you find content that is irrelevant, please remove it. If there is some concern, please send an email to the Dal-ACM Technology Committee mailing list.

  • Try to maintain a hierarchy of information. Do NOT just link to everything from the index page. A link to the CEOS info could conceivably go on the front page (although I would prefer there to be a conference page instead, and link to that). A link to the CEOS '05 page would be pushing it. A link to the CEOS '05 Programming Committee's lunch options would be unacceptable. Use discretion.
  • Read these rules again.
